NMMW Summer Gathering – Reconnecting with Each Other and the Earth

July 22, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - July 24, 2022 @ 12:00 pm UTC+0

$50.00

LOCATION UPDATE:

Attention summer event campers!  After talking to the folks at the Pecos ranger station it is clear to me that Jack’s Creek Campground will not be available this year for our usual Summer Event.  Therefore I have found an alternative and have made definite reservations.
The campground is called Datil Well Campground, and is just west of Datil, New Mexico, which is west of Socorro.  I realize that this will be some extra traveling for some of you, but I have looked far and wide and this is the best I have found without going too terribly far.  It is not the high pine timbered mountains that we are used to, but is populated with pinion and juniper trees and has the type facilities we are used to such as a paved parking lot for the vehicles as well as places for pitching tents.  Water is available on site as well as toilets.  I believe it also has a covered pavilion with picnic tables.
If you would like to see pictures, Google “Datil Well Campground pictures.”  Be sure to add the word pictures as the official website does not have pictures.  Be prepared for a little more heat, but still be prepared for a good time.  Hiking trails are available.  The other good piece of news is that Pie Town is nearby!  I will be making maps and more news available soon!  Looking forward to seeing you there!

The Program for the Summer Event is around the thought of ONENESS. We hear people in various contexts saying we are all one, or the “Oneness of All.” What does this really mean and is there anything about oneness that should change our behavior? Make life better? It would seem that we are in a time in our society where we need this “Oneness” more than ever. Come and join us as we toss this around and see if we can find a way to make some rubber meet the road.

Schedule:
Event officially begins Friday, July 22, 7:00 PM
Ends Sunday, July 24, Noon

Our reservations begin Thursday the 21st. Feel free to be there on Thursday to help set up and have some extra fun time.

Things to Bring:
It’s camping! So bring the usual items:

  • Tent/camper/ etc.
  • Sleeping Bags, Pillows
  • Food! (and a way to prepare it!)
  • Sun Screen, Bug repellent
  • Flashlight
  • Clothing for hot days and cold nights
  • Hats
  • Rain gear (I’m being optimistic), typically we have been rained on

Everyone is responsible for their own food. However, we will have the traditional pot luck for the Saturday evening meal. If you have items that would be helpful for this such as a folding table, large pots, cook stove, serving spoons, etc., please bring.

I will be bringing a propane fire pit in the event that we cannot have wood fires. Having one more would be handy if the circle is large. Also, I will be bringing music for the program. I have a small speaker I can use but a large boom box would be better. If you have one please let me know in advance so I can know what media form would be necessary. I would prefer to use a jump drive. Better yet would be the ability to use Bluetooth.
